Linthicum, MD, March 4,2014 – The American Urological Association (AUA) is pleased to announce Bradley T. Stine has joined the organization as the new Director of Government Relations and Advocacy, effective March 5. As Director, Stine—who will be based in Washington, D.C.—will oversee government relations and congressional policy initiatives for the Association.
With more than 15 years of public policy experience and extensive work developing and implementing legislation and regulations involving health care and reform, Stine brings a wealth of knowledge of the legislative process as well as clinical practice issues to his new role at the AUA.
“Mr. Stine has played a key role in formulating legislative strategy and specific health policy positions on numerous and wide-ranging matters of interest to those within the medical community,” said Kathleen Wilson, AUA Associate Executive Director of Public Policy and Practice Support. “His ability to strengthen organizational relationships through outreach efforts is a special talent honed through his many years of experience working with members of the federal government, U.S. Congress and medical professional associations. The AUA is fortunate to have such a uniquely talented leader guiding its Department of Government Relations and Advocacy.”
Stine will be responsible for working with AUA Legislative Affairs Committee and physician volunteers to plan and implement activities aligned to the Association’s national and state legislative priorities. He will represent the AUA’s policy positions to members of Congress and advocacy-related coalitions as well as work with lawmakers to promote and preserve the interests of urologists.
Stine most recently served as Deputy Chief-of-Staff to Congressman C.W. Bill Young (R-FL) where he was responsible for managing and coordinating the senior member’s legislative portfolio on issues related to health care, small business, aging Americans as well as key government health programs including Medicare and Medicaid. Mr. Stine received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia.
