LINTHICUM, MD, January 23, 2012 The American Urological Association (AUA) is pleased to announce that it was awarded two marketing and communications awards for its video, “Why Urology?” The video, developed for medical students curious about the field of urology, was awarded a Platinum “Best of Show” Aurora Award in the Recruiting category, as well as a Gold AVA Award in the Web Video/Recruiting category.
The “Why Urology” video was designed to educate medical students and the public about the specialty of urology and its desirability as a field. The video, available on www.AUAnet.org and on the Association’s YouTube channel, has been viewed nearly 5,000 times since it was launched in August 2011.
“It was important for us to share the diversity and benefits of practicing urology as well as the passion and enthusiasm doctors have for the field,” said AUA Associate Executive Director of Information and Communications Peter J. Plourd II. “Our Marketing, Communications and Education Departments did in excellent job of capturing those sentiments in this video. We are very proud.”
